An Unofficial Brotherhood

Our team went through one of our hell days today. We had an engineer on sick leave, one who started maternity leave (though she later confirmed that it was a false alarm). One of our team leads went on emergency leave, an engineer on vacation leave, and I had two engineers deployed in a provincial assignment. And this was on top of 5 of our customers all of a sudden reporting problems, two high priority projects and only three deployable engineers.

In cases such as these it is really important for you to clear your mind and focus. For each activity that is lined up for us, we had the presence of mind to evaluate the tasks we were to take. To plan ahead and see what implications we would face if we chose one step over the other. And in the end we were ticking off the problems one by one and even had contingencies to spare.

I am very proud of my team for what they had accomplished today. They had acted unselfishly and proved that each one can depend on each other. It is wonderful to note that we have developed an unspoken bond with each other. A brotherhood tested by time and pressures of work. My brothers ... I thank you.
